Leanne Cameron

Dr Leanne Cameron is a researcher, practitioner, and education advisor with a portfolio of work focused on the improvement of education systems and development of teachers in low- and middle-income contexts.

As a practitioner, she has engaged directly with learner, teacher, and teacher trainer cohorts across Rwanda, Mexico, and Sri Lanka, and she has coordinated and deployed a variety of short-term teacher in-service projects across East and Central Africa.

In her recent work for Education Development Trust, her portfolio of projects has included work on a variety of evidence briefs, including one on foundational learning and English medium of instruction, which was presented to the Rwandan minister for education, as well as detailed working papers for GPE Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) to present evidence from 85 countries on gender equality and social inclusion, teacher training and management, early childhood care and education, and supporting at-risk and out-of-school children.

Leanne holds a master’s degree in teaching English from California State University, USA and a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol in the UK.
